Yvonne Hughes is a trained graphic designer and illustrator, studying at Hornsey College of Arts. Following graduation Yvonne spent three years in commercial advertising, followed by five years working at the world renowned Decca Record Company illustrating and designing record sleeves and librettos.

Following her time at Decca, Yvonne has spent fourteen years working as a freelance visualiser for a display and merchandising company, enjoying the freedom to design and create with paint and airbrush for the commercial market.

During these years while bringing up her family and working from her home close to Epping Forest, Yvonne was able to study wildlife in its natural surroundings including a wealth of flora and fauna which lived at the end of her garden.

Yvonne has extensively researched the natural world through fieldwork and observations, throughout the world and is now completely devoted to creative wildlife painting, with birds of prey and big cats being of particular interest to her, admiring their beauty, majestic freedom and power.

Yvonne uses a combination of water colour and acrylic, used to capture accurately details of her subjects and apply them to her canvas’s and so captures the realism of the “living” creature.

As well as original artwork Yvonne produces Limited Edition Prints from her orignal works at varying sizes which can be purchased directly from her.
